Dr. Dimaano is an adult and pediatric brain and spine surgeon based in Cebu, Philippines. He had his medical education at Cebu Institute of Medicine and graduated from Neurosurgery residency training at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. He had his clinical fellowship in Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Gammaknife Radiosurgery) at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center.

Dr. Dimaano did his preceptorship in Deep Brain Stimulation from pioneer functional neurosurgeons of this modality in the Philippines, namely, Dr. Jose Francisco Aguilar (Philippine General Hospital/Cardinal Santos Medical Center) and Dr. Jean Quint Oropilla (Quirino Memorial Medical Center/Makati Medical Center/Asian Hospital). He further trained as an international fellow in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand under the tutelage of Professor Bunpot Sitthinamsuwan. He was exposed to surgeries for the management of movement disorders, epilepsy, psychiatric disorders, and pain.

He is a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Neurological Surgery and was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Filipino Neurosurgeons, Inc. in 2023. He is a member of the International Leksell Gammaknife Society and is currently the section head for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Brain and Spine Center Department of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Dimaano considers training and research as integral parts in the field, rearing neurosurgical trainees as the department resident and research coordinator and as a member of the Technical Review Board under the VSMMC Research Institute. Lastly, he is a peer reviewer for the World Neurosurgery journal.
